Improve traction and stability on your Renault with this helical-gear limited-slip differential (Torsen type). Designed for Renault JB3 gearboxes (nut version), JC5 and certain JH3, fitted to many models: Clio, Mégane, Twingo, Renault 19, Clio Williams, Renault 5 and GT Turbo (depending on gearbox/build). Ideal for sporty use and competition, it delivers progressive and stable torque transfer with no harsh lock-up.
Unlike a plate-type LSD, this unit has no friction plates and no clutch packs to wear out. Torque biasing is smooth, with no brutal locking, keeping the handling predictable and improving traction on acceleration.
Made from forged Nickel-Chromoly steel with treatments/finishes (such as cryogenic treatment, shot peening and WPC surface treatment) to increase surface hardness, fatigue resistance and service life in harsh conditions.
Compared to an open differential, this LSD improves traction, reduces wheelspin and increases cornering speed. Reported testing shows an average gain of around 1 second per kilometre, depending on setup and discipline.
