Built for competition, this BMW E87 E90 E92 188L plate-type LSD improves drive out of corners, consistency and rear-end control, even when grip levels change.
Premium design: forged steel and reinforced treatments
Made from forged Nickel-Chromoly steel, this clutch-plate LSD benefits from specific treatments (cryogenic / Super Sub-Zero type) and strengthening processes (shot peening, WPC) to increase strength, limit wear and extend service life under harsh conditions.
16 friction plates + optimised weight
This model stands out with a 16-plate architecture and a weight of around 6.6 kg. Result: more consistent traction and a preload that stays more stable over time, even in endurance use.
Ramps and settings
As with the whole range, it features a double-ramp body. The factory configuration for this application is 35/67.5 and 35/90 (other angles available on request depending on your use).
Belleville washers included
Two thicker Belleville (conical) washers are included to increase preload (about +20 Nm each) and fine-tune behaviour to your driving style.
Oil recommendations (important)
- Use a transmission oil with LS (Limited Slip) specification / friction modifiers suitable for clutch-plate LSDs.
- Commonly used grade: 75W-140 LS (only LS specification if a clutch-plate LSD is installed).
- Fitting tip: add a little oil directly into the LSD during installation (the factory anti-rust oil is not meant for lubrication).
